DevOps; everyone talks about it, but not everyone knows what it is. Today’s fast-moving world makes DevOps essential to all enterprises that must be agile and lean enough to respond rapidly to changes such as customer demands, market conditions, competitive pressures or regulatory requirements.

Due to continued growth and development, we’re seeking candidates to join our well-established DevOps team to help tackle a broad variety of projects within clients across every industry. We are passionate about delivering an enhanced customer experience, an increased capacity to innovate and faster time to value for our clients.

Our DevOps team sits within IBMs Global Business Services (GBS) practice, which provides clients with business transformation and industry expertise, and the ability to translate that expertise into integrated, responsive, innovative business solutions. GBS provides consulting services across multiple industries and covers the whole process chain from strategy consulting through to the construction, implementation and operation of technical and commercial solutions.

We’re looking for candidates across a number of different skills profiles including Consultancy, Development and Test. The successful candidates will have sound knowledge and experience of DevOps principles alongside the below requirements for each role:

Strategy Consultant

Liaising closely with both clients and the extended DevOps teams, you will be responsible for assessing existing environments, identifying opportunities, articulating problem statements and benefit cases around DevOps approaches as well as creating roll out plans and Strategy Documents.

You will have core skills in Consulting, Maturity Assessments, end to end knowledge of DevOps including Continuous Integration (CI), test and deployment, planning and delivery management.

Strategy Architect

You are responsible for defining, designing and delivering end to end tooling solutions which resolve problem statements for our clients.

You will have extensive DevOps tooling knowledge, infrastructure architecture experience, knowledge of cloud, build pipeline and have lots of hands on end to end experience of DevOps including Continuous Integration, test and deployment.

Infrastructure Engineer

You are capable of implementing the process and tooling to support capabilities; including environments as code, cloud migration, environment provisioning and configuration.

You will have experience in the following: Configuration management, Bash/Shell Scripting, YAML, Cloud, javascript, build deployment, production monitoring, Linux, Windows Server, AWS, Cloud Foundry, Jenkins, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Docker

Development Engineer:

Responsible for implementing the process and tooling to support build capabilities including automated code quality, deployment, unit testing, dashboards.

You will have experience in the Software Development Lifecycle, Continuous Integration, Unit Testing, Quality Assurance, agile, Jenkins, SonarQube, artifactory, urbancode, siesta, selenium.

Owing to the nature of working within a consulting services environment, your projects and clients do change over time so flexibility to travel is a pre-requisite of all roles.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Problem Solving : Ability to analyse and resolve complex infrastructure resource and application deployment issues

  • Professional commitment to high quality, and a passion for learning new skills

  • Detail oriented with the ability to rapidly learn new concepts and technologies

  • A strong team player with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively in a geographically disperse working environment.

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • Agile Methodologies : Experience with Agile software development

  • Configuration management, Bash / Shell scripting, YAML, Cloud, javascript, build deployment, production monitoring

  • javascript, HTML or Visual Basic or basic coding in any language.

  • Test Driven Development, Manual Testing, Automated Testing

  • DB Skills : Basic DB Administration experience (Oracle, SQL Server)

  • Version Control : Experience administrating
