Job Description

Responsibilities:

Serve as Data Centre operator.

Perform daily operation in Data Centre including

  • Attend 7x24x365 shifts in roster

  • Batch job execution, monitoring and result checking

  • Timely and accurate incident reporting

  • Oversee facility maintenance work and equipment installation/de-installation

  • Inventory taking

  • Enforcement of physical security at Data Centre

  • Maintain data centre in clean and tidy manner

  • Basic arms and legs duties

  • Other related duties as assigned

Essential Qualities:

Requirements:

  • Understanding of Data Centre environment including facilities

  • Console operations knowledge and experience on heterogeneous platforms

  • Computer peripherals operations knowledge and experience

  • Use of OA systems (e.g. Microsoft Windows & Email)

  • Strict adherence to operations instruction and job schedule

  • Strong sense in physical and logical access control and understanding of a vitality

  • Strong sense in handling of personal data

  • Be a team worker

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Essential Qualities:

Requirements:

  • Use of automated operation tools according to procedure

  • Understanding of computer system environment

  • Knowledge of scripting language on various platform including Unix Script, z/OS JCL, etc.

  • Basic console operations

  • Basic operations of computer peripherals

  • Understanding of application schedules on multiple platform

  • Understanding of Data Centre environment

  • Ability to adhere to operations procedure and application job schedule
