IBM IT Specialist in TUCSON, Arizona

Job Description

This person will be a part of our Build Automation and Tools (BAT) team. The BAT team is primarily responsible for the support/enhancement of the formal build, package, and bundling processes under the DS8000 disk storage organization. The BAT team supports our development environment and is responsible for seeking out new ways to automate recurring processes of the builds where appropriate. Assists Gorillas (project leads) in build problem analysis/resolution. Assists Developers/Testers in resolving environment-related issues supported by the BAT team. When available, serves as an interface to the GSA, CMVC, and DFS teams in efforts to assist developers in resolving issues related to these groups.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Basic knowledge in UNIX System Administration

  • Basic knowledge in Perl Scripting

  • Basic knowledge in IP Networking

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • 1 year software test or development experience

  • 2 years system administration UNIX based systems

  • 1 year Perl/Shell scripting and debugging

  • 1 year debugging / troubleshooting system environments

  • 1 year networking experience
