IBM Event Marketing Manager in TORONTO, Ontario

Job Description

As an IBM Event Marketing Manager, you will have a real passion for planning, developing and delivering high quality, creative client experiences which help differentiate IBM from the competition at various points in the buyer’s journey in order to build and progress business to business sales pipeline.

You will be required to lead a wide variety of events spanning multiple event types including executive round tables and meetings, third party sponsorships including trade show and speaker participation, proprietary events both large and small, road shows, unique client hospitality and internal sales enablement and leadership events.

You will lead event program budgets within IBM processes and guidelines to ensure an expected return on investment. In addition, the use of IBM global tools, processes and technologies will be required to document, track and execute events.

As a member of a large group of event managers, you will be expected to be a trusted team player with tight-knit collaboration and interpersonal skills who can expertly lead meetings and run their project plans. You will act as an event marketing consultant offering mentorship, creative solutions and assistance to various demand program leaders on all aspects of event management.

You will be responsible for agency and vendor relationships throughout the course of the event process, ensuring services are delivered in line with the scope of work.

Some travel will be required primarily within Canada, on occasion in the US.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Five (5)+ years of previous event marketing experience required - both proprietary and more specifically 3rd party events including tradeshow booth creation.

  • Excellent project management skills with an eye and attention for details

  • Self-motivated and must have the ability to manage multiple events at one time.

  • Must be able to assess and prioritize workload in a strict deadline-driven environment

  • High levels of energy, passion, enthusiasm, initiative, flexibility, good humour, commitment.

  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization

  • Ability to manage multiple events at any given point in time.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills - Excel & PowerPoint

  • Ability to embrace new ideas and the confidence to make recommendations for change.

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

• Experience infusing digital/social/mobile elements into events would be an asset.

• Campaign management or communications experience would be an asset.

• Ability to speak French will be an asset but not required.
