IBM Medical Case Specialist (Licensed Nurse) in TAGUIG CITY, Philippines

Job Description

  • Applying the principles of nursing, public health and epidemiology to provide medical and disability case management.

  • Adheres to geography specific guidelines and procedures supporting disability management and return to work practices.

  • Manages time to facilitate resolving conflicts, being decisive, accountable and exercising sound business judgement.

  • Case load is large with varying degrees of complexity, some requiring extensive follow-up:

  1. Performs assessments of employee health needs and develops individual case management plans.

  2. Collects and report data to support disability analytics

  3. Accountable for individual and team results.

  4. Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.

  • Requires ability to absorb professional knowledge quickly and develop and apply those skills.

Communication/Negotiation:

  • Daily contact with employees and management on highly confidential, personal and sensitive medical information.

  • Draws upon professional concepts to collaborate with others. .

  • In general, assumes the responsibility for developing positive relationships with assigned geography management and staff to ensure a high level of overall customer satisfaction.

  • Analytical ability to recognize job related problems, determine causes and recommend solutions.

  • Ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment.

  • Handles medical/disability situations with a high level of sensitivity to customer needs, independently takes appropriate actions, and seeks assistance as required.

  • Contribution/Leadership Staff position with significant responsibilities for disability management process and related activities.

  • Ability to interpret policies and practices as it relates to employee occupational health and safety, and medical benefits programs.

  • Plans, prioritizes and schedules workload to meet or exceed customer satisfaction objectives.

  • Impact on Business/Scope Document cost effectiveness and quality outcome of assigned programs. Submits accurate and timely reports.

  • Develops and implements business strategies and innovative health services solutions using extensive knowledge of health care consistent with local, state and federal regulatory requirements.

  • Analyze data and design, deploy and implement health programs to create a positive culture based upon prevention.

  • Work on special projects, provide leadership in developing and implementing health strategies.

  • Assess customer needs, track issues for problem patterns, resolve individual employee questions or issues, prepare employee communications, implement and support health projects, make changes to adapt to changing legislation, manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts.

  • May also include identifying opportunities and developing business cases for plan design changes and handling competitive assessments.

  • Requires teaming with other IBM functions on matters involving legal compliance, employee relations, and financial aspects related to health programs.

  • Demonstrates understanding of the global perspectives.

Qualifications:

  • Professional nursing knowledge with specific knowledge of the concepts and practices of occupational and environmental health.

  • Requires ability to absorb professional knowledge quickly and develop and apply those skills.

  • Must be a graduate from an accredited nursing program, licensed and registered, as a registered nurse, in local geography and US.

  • Must have unrestricted nursing license to practice in Manila and NCLEX passer

  • Must be Computer literate; willing to work on rotational shift and/or week ends (if needed)
