Job Description

As an IBM Watson Marketing Project Manager you will be working on client and/or partner delivery assignments of IBM's Marketing Automation solutions and managing the implementation of Marketing Automation projects in EMEA.

Clients will generally be members of a company’s Marketing and/or IT departments. You will manage the development of individualised solutions for each of these customers in order to implement the Marketing Automation solution within the clients environments. You may have overall project management role on larger assignments or project management across a number of assignments.

You may also from time to time take on consulting activities such as requirements gathering, campaign design, business process analysis, etc. In this case you might assist the client in the planning, developing and launch of campaigns, carrying out sales support and coordinating technical support activities.

You will have plenty of client contact, liaising with companies marketing departments and also the IT function. Projects will always have customer staff involvement and will either be staffed with IBM consultants only or IBM and partner resources.

Candidates should consider that they may spend up to 75% of their time away from home in the case of the larger more complex projects.

The Project Manager we are looking for is multi-skilled and able to cover multiple disciplines, notably:

  1. Project Management;
  • Identification and communication with client sponsor(s) and client stakeholders to confirm solution delivery success criteria and expected results/outcomes.

  • Definition and management of services delivery project plan, including assessment of plan completeness, effort estimates, dependencies, contingency, and satisfaction of all contractual obligations.

  • Ensuring IBM engagement team resources are assigned and execute activities according to the agreed upon service project plan and proactively notify of any plan deviations.

  • Managing changes to IBMs service delivery scope, cost, schedule, or results to avoid IBM cost overruns while meeting client expectations.

  • Providing IBM services management with accurate services delivery forecast, financial position, completed milestones, results, or customer satisfaction issues.

  • Be able to scope items of work

  1. Functional Ability;
  • Once familiar with the Marketing Automation solutions, be able to talk with customer marketing resources to drive out business solutions.

  • Be aware of business roles and be able to advise of business process improvements and change

  • Carry out customer training and mentoring activities using Watson Marketing SaaS and on-premise solutions.

  • Be willing to gain marketing domain knowledge (if such does not already exist)

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Several years experience in Project Management supporting large accounts, preferably in the Professional Services group of a software product or consulting company

  • Experience of managing Software or SaaS implementation projects

  • Digital marketing product consulting capability

  • Professional services experience in software implementation, technical consulting and large-scale project management within a similar Software or SaaS organization

  • Experience in similar role at a marketing, agency or services company

  • Experience with marketing automation technologies, including email marketing

  • Experience with web-based applications

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • Ability to gather business requirements and assimilate that information into Project Specifications or Statements of Work that further drive business strategy and needs.

  • Strong communication (written & verbal), organizational, interpersonal, problem solving, negotiation, multi-tasking, and follow through skills.

  • Proven track record in risk management, escalation and scoping procedures.

  • Strong leadership within team and cross function. Leads team discussions and champions internal improvement initiatives.

  • Experience with the Watson Marketing products (Unica or Silverpop) or Marketing consulting experience with competitor brands such as SAS, Teradata (Aprimo), Pegasystems (Chordiant), Infor (Epiphany), Adobe (Neolane), Siebel Marketing

  • Experience and proficiency in email systems, ISP’s, data manipulation, databases, Flash and other web technologies (HTML, CSS, Web Forms, JavaScript, RSS, FTP, XML, APIs, Web Services)
