IBM Qiskit Quantum Programming Community Advocate in San Francisco, California

Job Description

The IBM Q team is driving research and development of the industry’s most advanced quantum computing hardware and software and growing communities to not only accelerate quantum computing but to help the world understand how to use it. You will help manage and build the Qiskit community by not only being an active participant and contributor, but also understanding the needs of the community and then driving the Qiskit and IBM Q roadmap in support of the community. The IBM Q and Qiskit core teams, based in Yorktown Heights, NY, are developing every aspect of the business to support quantum computing - including not only the quantum systems and quantum communities that are essential to accelerate progress, but redeveloping the full software stack from the ground up. You must be strong at building relationships and healthy and supportive teams, be comfortable working in cross-functional groups, and be able to and willing to expand your knowledge through self-directed learning (online courses, videos, on-the-job learning). You will collaborate with offering management, software development, quantum theory and algorithms research, and business development teams.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Natural Sciences, or a related area is required.

This position is located anywhere in North America.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Experience with modern programming languages

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

Experience with open source projects; Experience with Python programming; Background in quantum computing, quantum mechanics, or quantum information science; Experience with API development; Experience with Container technology
