We are looking for a Portfolio Marketing Manager to join our Portfolio Marketing team, responsible for the worldwide marketing of our storage offerings to Developer, Data Science and IT decision makers with strategy and content that builds thought leadership, maximizes customer engagement and creates revenue opportunity for the business. A successful candidate will have a track record developing messaging and content that creates market awareness, and fuels digital demand gen campaigns. Proven ability to comprehend complex, technical concepts to develop clear, differentiated and engaging messaging for Developer, Data Science and IT audiences is essential.

Preferred Location: Chicago, IL.Boston, MA and Austin, TX

This role requires an individual with the technical background, marketing knowledge and the writing and content development skills to create persuasive marketing programs and campaigns that deliver results. Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement marketing plans to deliver compelling point of views, strategic messaging and proof points that improve the portfolio's market position and support the achievement of business goals.

  • Drive strategy, messaging and content development for product launches, announcements, industry events, customer roundtables, and digital campaigns (blogging, web-site, social, advertising, content syndication, etc).

  • Produce selling collateral and tools such as offering data sheets, sales plays, client presentations, case studies, business case tools, demonstrations, client testimonials, trial offerings etc.

  • Create digital campaign assets that address clients at every stage of the buyer journey (blogs, ‘how to’ tutorials, technical papers and videos, third party assets, syndicated content, etc), working with agencies and Performance Marketing.

  • Create client reference program materials including press releases, testimonials, advertising, case studies, speaking engagements etc., working closely with clients and Sales.

  • Provide inputs and insights to trade analyst reports and presentations for analysts, to create market credibility and gain analyst endorsements.

  • Manage and be accountable for marketing spending, keeping within budget.

  • Collaborate with Offer Management, Performance Marketing, Sales, Media Relations and other stakeholders in defining positioning, shaping messaging and external communications.

  • Represent Developer, Data Science and IT buyers’ wants and needs to internal stakeholders, ensuring that the voice of IBM Cloud Object Storage resonates with target buyers through all marketing activities. Provide guidance to extended marketing functions and regional marketing teams to raise awareness, deepen thought leadership, and help drive pipeline-generating activities.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 5 years in business-to-business, technical product/solutions marketing roles, with proven record of success achieving positioning, market share and revenue goals.

  • 5 years experience in marketing Cloud and/or Storage solutions to Developer, Data Science and/or IT decision makers preferred.

  • 5 years expert writing and content development skills required, including knowledge of digital marketing required.

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment, with multiple and changing priorities while maintaining strong focus on execution and results.

  • Technical degree and MBA preferred.
