IBM Service Line Representative in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina

Job Description

This role is for a GTS Network Service Line Representative (SLR) supports clients in the Communications Market. The SLR for Network Services is responsible for developing integrated networking solutions that address client business needs (both industry and business) and deliver client value while supporting IBM GTS business strategies. The individual is responsible for delivering the sales quota and business results for GTS Networking Services.

Successful candidates will be responsible for all aspects of selling IBM Networking Services products - including pipeline management, opportunity identification, analyzing requirements of clients, selecting appropriate IBM solutions, leading PoCs, demonstrations, client workshops and presentations, preparing quotes/pricing/contracts, driving other proposal development activities, and working with Communications Market Sellers / Service Client Representative (SCR) & pre-sales colleagues.

Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborates with, and acts as a liaison between our customers, sales, pre-sales solution development and delivery teams during the end-to-end engagement and sales process

  • Adhering to all business practice guidelines and utilizing the various internal processes to ensure compliance. These include pricing within delegation and business rules, validity of Statements of Work, contract registration, sales forecasting in Sales Connect, weekly cadence, resource requests, and other items required to ensure a successful sales effort and therefore, successful project delivery.

Preference for location is Austin, TX, Dallas, TX, Houston, TX or Atlanta, GA or other larger Southern city areas.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • At least 3 years experience in IT Services Solution Selling, or Consulting to IT executives; e.g.: CTOs, CIOs, VP of Infra, Data Center Director

  • Readiness to travel up to 50% annually

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • At least 3 years’ experience in 1 of the following sectors: public, industrial, financial services, distribution, and/or communications sector.

  • At least 3 years’ experience in Technical Solution Development

  • At least 3 year’s experience in Leveraging Partners/Solution Providers

  • At least 3 year’s experience in Business Case and Proposal Development
