IBM Category Manager/Procurement Consultant in RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, North Carolina

Job Description

IBM is seeking highly motivated and experienced individuals with sourcing experience to join our team of procurement and analytics professionals. Specifically, we are seeking to fill the role of a Category Manager. Specifically, we are seeking to fill the role of a Design and Construction Category Manager. The Category Manager leads sourcing projects for our clients along with category insights to assist in their strategy development across the facilities and Design and Construction categories.

Category Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Baseline Creation & Savings Analysis

  • Knowledge of and ability to create baseline and savings analysis for procurement project. Also, knowledge of savings methodologies and how to calculate savings for each methodology.

  • Client Facing Skills

  • Ability to maintain professionalism in communications with all levels of client stakeholders. Experience being in a client facing role. Ability to deliver high quality project deliverables on time and with the level of attention to detail the client expects.

  • Client Relationship Management

  • Knowledge of the techniques and the ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with Clients.

  • Oversees key client reviews to assure service and relationship satisfaction.

  • Coaches others in the value, issues, and methods of client partnering.

  • Works directly with clients to discern business trends and their implications.

  • Maintains status information on major developments in client or partner environment.

  • Plays a leadership role in establishing strategic sourcing standards, policies, strategy and best practices.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • At least 5 years of Client Facing Experience

  • Project Management Experience

  • Specialized knowledge in Design and Construction related sourcing preferably in Woodwork, Aluminum extruded materials and Tempered/Float Glass industry.
