IBM Manager, Account Management for Watson Advertising in NEW YORK, New York

Job Description

The Weather Company's advertising sales division is now Watson Advertising, and represents the evolution of our sales organization since being acquired by IBM. We are an ecosystem of media, data, and AI technology solutions designed to help you save time, connect with customers, and drive ROI. We are currently seeking a Manager of Account Management to help lead our Digital Account Management team.

This role will be focused on providing world-class customer service to our advertising partners while also helping to set the standard of excellence across the entire Account Management team. This Manager role will report to the Director of Account Management.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop strong, collaborative partnerships with Sales team and leadership in effort to fuel client growth

  • Oversight of campaign execution within the team, reporting of KPIs and program/product adoption, development and deployment of account risk mitigation strategies

  • Develop team members through consistent training, coaching, and leadership

  • Manage team and individual performance through formal and informal performance management processes and ongoing feedback

  • Define clear career path for each team member and provide direct, timely feedback on performance

  • Collaborate with fellow Managers and their teams to create best practices and standards for application

  • Drive adoption of products, tools, processes, and standards throughout team

  • Create a training and knowledge-sharing environment within the team framework

  • Foster a collaborative environment to encourage respectful exchange of ideas

  • Proactively address/escalate urgent issues within the team and communicates back resolution

  • Develop strong partnerships with cross-team leadership in effort to encourage successful collaboration

  • Support in guiding priorities for internal resources to ensure timely launches and maximize delivery for each client

  • Drive operational scalability and efficiency on all accounts, seeking standardization and automation wherever possible

  • Learn and understand the full capabilities of our ad products, tools, and systems in effort to guide team on efficient launch methods and support troubleshooting

  • Serve as a solution-oriented change agent that asks questions, seeks to understand, and strives to help us improve

  • Work collaboratively with Account Management senior leadership to further hone and develop processes, best practices and new approaches for the business

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 2+ years of direct personnel management experience

  • 6+ years of experience managing Digital advertising campaigns with client direct and agency engagement

  • Experience with and passion for developing, leading, and inspiring a team of both junior and more tenured individuals

  • High level of organization and comfort operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment

  • Ability to manage large customer relationships and manage through conflict, driving groups to collective business decision

  • Proven track record translating marketing objectives into results for advertisers

  • Demonstrated experience effectively optimizing marketing campaigns by analyzing performance and recommending adjustments to key performance drivers

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, attention to detail, and a bias for proactively resolving issues

  • Must have strong understanding of digital marketplace and of the competitive landscape in which we operate
