Job Description:

The role of the Business Development Representative is primarily opportunity identification (OI), to seek out and find new business/new buyers for IBM Sellers to progress and close. You will help to shape the “need” of potential buyers in financial markets across Europe. Your role will be primarily to utilize social selling techniques and select Financial Services webcasts to engage the buyers and uncover new IBM business.

Responsibilities

Inbound Request Management

  • Respond to requests for Chat/Contact Me during early sales/marketing stages

  • Nurture early stage clients/prospects through multiple touches until fully validated

  • Warm handover to appropriate seller (Client Exec or Business Unit specialist)

Outbound Relationship Management

  • Identify and profile potential prospects, for example by monitoring users liking or sharing of our content and understanding their role/responsibility based on LinkedIn profile

  • Primary focus on New Client Acquisition (NCA), Enterprise and Commercial Top accounts

  • Develop list of prospects based on behaviour. Partner with content team to create custom content to support outreach activities.

  • Research prospects’ social footprint, and find ways to develop contact (eg following on LinkedIn, LinkedIn e-mail)

  • Nurture prospects until ready to hand off to appropriate seller

The ideal candidate will be proficient at using digital and business development tools , confident engaging peers and making connections, experience with a consultative selling approach and experience in financial services industry You will be comfortable discussing business issues and goals with LOB and C Level decision makers.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Minimum 2 years professional experience within financial services ideally in a business development role with track record in achieving personal business targets

  • Strong Sales acumen & demonstrable prospecting capabilities via Digital Channels especially telephone

  • Skilled working in a fast-paced selling environment with ability to interact with “C” level and IT buyers

  • Can translate business pains into business solutions & work with internal IBM teams in an effective way to find the right solutions for clients

  • Goal-oriented; maintains a sense of urgency in a deadline-driven setting

  • Ability to leverage resources throughout the business to solve complex problems

  • Fluent both written and spoken in the target market (English / German )

  • Experience in Risk Management, Compliance and / or Cybersecurity an advantage.
