IBM Mainframe Developer & Specialist in MARKHAM, Ontario

Job Description

IBM Z is seeking a software engineer to be part of a highly skilled, results oriented agile team working with industry leaders in developing the next generation tools platform for the mainframe that powers over 90% of top 100 banks globally and used by over 90% of all Fortune 500 companies today.

As a Mainframe Developer & Specialist, you are part of a highly focused, self-managed Agile team who designs, develops, tests & deploys mainframe applications on z/OS. You will help bring digital applications to life by creating robust enterprise platforms to support rich and interactive front ends. You also have experience working in the z/OS environment and its subsystems including installation, configuration, trouble shooting and problem analysis of mainframe applications.

As a member of a dynamic team in supporting the delivery of enterprise software for a large user base, you demonstrate leadership, technical curiosity, a self-starter, creativity as well as forward thinking with a passion for growth and innovation.

This role will involve working with technology that is covered by embargo Export Regulations. If you are a Foreign National from any of the following embargoed countries (Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, and Syria) on a work permit, you are not eligible for employment in this position.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Experience in z/OS software development (Java, C/C++, REXX, COBOL )

  • Experience in ISPF, TSO, JCL, Batch programming

  • Experience working with modern and mainframe SCM (Git, Endevor)

  • Experience in designing and creating high performance and secure z/OS applications

  • Experience in designing and creating server-side automated test cases for z/OS applications

  • A self-starter & ability to work effectively in a team environment

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • Experience in z/OS system programming (installation, configuration)

  • Experience in z/OS subsystems (CICS, IMS, MVS, DB2, MQ)

  • Experience in z/OS security, RACF, SSL, SSO, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

  • Experience in mainframe storage solutions and database technologies including ISAM, VSAM, IMS, DB2

  • Experience in HLASM/Assembler, Node.js, Java EE, web technologies
