Job Description
The Senior Security Engineer is an individual contributor responsible for providing complex IT Security services to clients within the IBM Managed Security Services organization. As a member of a team, or working independently, performs an analytical and technical role in the implementation, integration and delivery of technical IT security solutions for our clients. Engineers perform multiple assigned technical tasks including research, analysis, troubleshooting, product installation and OS upgrades, system integration, and complex root cause analysis of managed security solutions.
Job Description:
Configuring and administering Checkpoint firewall and UTM (Unified Threat Management) Systems
Requires an in-depth knowledge of TCP/IP and communication protocols in LAN/WAN deployments
The ability to troubleshoot complex network service provider issues in the WAN while working with multiple geographically dispersed client and vendor teams to identify and eliminate network configuration issues
Participate in Client Maintenance windows and provide on the spot support to clients
Assist in development of appropriate security policy and implementation of policy
Create and troubleshoot VPN scenarios.
Perform software upgrades and hotfix.
Apply Bluecoat experience
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
High School Diploma/GED
1 Year experience implementing network security solutions Checkpoint Gaia and Splat.
1 Year experience on network troubleshooting techniques Checkpoint Gaia and Splat
Combined experience in network engineering, network administration, system programming, system design or related technical specialties
Experience in firewall device policy management and security device troubleshooting and maintenance
Linux, TCP/IP, IP Routing, VPN Management
Advanced Bluecoat Knowledge
Preferred Tech and Prof Experience
Bachelors Degree in Information Technology
+3 years experience implementing network security solutions for Checkpoint
+3 years experience on network troubleshooting techniques for Checkpoint
Certified in Checkpoint Firewalls
Remote Operations Experience
Linux certifications.
