Job Description

Position Summary and Responsibilities

The Business Operations Professional is responsible for the operations management of one or more practices within the services business. This includes revenue; profit performance; management of the processes that include quality assurance, business controls and procedures; customer satisfaction deployment and ratings; and plan administration. Develops and administers unit revenue, cost, and expense budgets, and manages each to optimize IBM services return on sales. The Business Operations Professionals are measured on revenue, profit, customer satisfaction and satisfactory audits.



Strong finance and planning experience with a background in business controls. knowledge of the services business in operations and strategy.


Can write clear, concise and informative reports with strong presentation skills. Conduct effective negotiations in development of unit revenue, cost, and expense budgets, working with unit executives across the organization.

Problem Solving:

Applies creativity and judgment in identifying and analyzing problems and providing recommendations for the unit services business strategy.


Manages unit revenue, cost, and expense of one or more practices within the services business to optimize IBM services return on sales. Monitors attainment of all related operational metrics, including revenue, profit and utilization. Complies with IBM contract procedures and business controls and maintains "audit readiness." Tracks contract status reports, ensuring accuracy against recognized revenue.

Impact on Business/Scope

Manages business process, including quality assurance, business controls and procedures of one or more practices within the services business. Responsible for customer satisfaction deployment and ratings. Assists in the establishment of market plans, development of resource requirements and plan for future resource needs.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Bachelor's degree in Business Management or equivalent curriculum that focuses on general management.

• • Excellent oral and written communication skills needed to foster productive relationships with diverse staff.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, demanding, and complex work environment, with the ability to carry out complex assignments and adapt to changing situations and priorities.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint). Strong computer skills necessary.

• Experience in BPO industry is a plus.
