This is a regular, full-time position for a Technical Sales Specialist within the IBM Global Solution Center in Coppell, Texas. The Global Solution Center is a world-class client center where teams of Industry Solution Architects, Specialists, and Designers bring IBM together to accelerate solutions to help clients innovate and address their most challenging business problems. This person will work with team members and clients to create high quality proofs-of-concept and generate technical sales assets for the progression or close of solution sales opportunities.
Install, configure and support complex existing multi-zone network infrastructure, including Juniper and Cisco network components
Install, configure and support wireless network infrastructure technology such as access points, controllers, etc.
Install, configure and support virtual machine infrastructure including VMWare, IBM Cloud Private and other hypervisors
Install, configure and support IT hardware including X86 systems, IBM POWER systems, IBM storage systems, SAN, etc.
Support for various Linux distributions (Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS, SLES) as well as MS Windows Server
Assist IBM GSC personnel with technical issues, O/S support, IT solution design/implementation
Leverage IBM’s cloud capabilities in support of GSC solution activities
Participate directly as required in the design and implementation of complex solutions with in-depth product, technology, and industry-related specialized skills in support of client opportunities, including PoCs and sales assets
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Demonstrated knowledge of IBM’s cloud capabilities, offerings and approaches
Demonstrated knowledge of VMWare ESX management
At least 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure support and operations
At least 3 years of experience in network configuration and management, specifically using Juniper and Cisco components
At least 3 years of experience in virtual machine management, preferably VMware-based
Preferred Tech and Prof Experience
CCNA, JNCIA or equivalent certification
Demonstrated communication skills, works well in teams, and quickly adapts to new technologies
Familiar with Agile techniques
Experience in use of IBM’s cloud technologies
Experience configuring and managing Juniper networks
Experience in analyzing client needs, requirements and expectations
Experience with container technology such as Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
Active in generation and acceptance of intellectual capital / patents
