IBM Sr. Storage Sales Specialist - South Central Region in Chicago, Illinois

As a consultative, client-facing, sales professional, you will be guided by IBM's purpose –to be essential to its clients - actively engaging clients to develop the trust and credibility to help them grow their businesses by solving strategic and tactical business problems with IBM’s proven hardware, software defined and cloud-based storage solutions.

We are seeking individuals interested in making an impact in selling IBM's storage portfolio to maintain and grow existing revenue streams, while also building new relationships and business in the territory. You must be self-motivated, ready to interact daily with a variety of other smart and highly motivated people, and work in a changing environment where no two days are ever the same. Our Sales Specialists deliver industry centric business solutions to clients of all sizes and markets.

The Storage Solution Salesperson will be responsible for driving sales of IBM's entire Storage Portfolio including Software Defined Storage, Flash, Cloud Object Storage, Spectrum Software Suite as well as a number of technology partner products.

You'll also be responsible for navigating IBM to identify and acquire critical resources needed to develop the best solution for the client, while applying IBM brand strategies and offerings, methods and models, to ensure world-class design and delivery. Not only do our salespeople sell some of the world's most innovative IT and business solutions (analytics, cognitive solutions, cloud, commerce, internet of things, security, social, systems hardware, systems software or Watson (health), they get to interact with clients in a wide array of fields. This position resides in the South-Central States. Preference to candidates living in this area.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • At least 5 years’ experience in IT Sales

  • At least 5 years’ experience in Storage Sales

  • Competitive experience in High Performance Computing (HPC), Cloud and Storage

  • Demonstrated Business/Territory development success

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • 5 years’ experience selling storage solutions

  • Enterprise accounts experience

  • Selling in to Healthcare, Life Sciences and / or SLED
