The Watson Health DevOps Engineer is responsible for design, implementation, and enhancement of build & deploy systems. This person will work closely with the Development, QA and Operations teams to deliver effective and maintainable software integration and deployment processes. He or she will select, configure, support and scale the tools and technologies used by our team to build a highly scalable and manageable environment.
Deploy and support systems in accordance with IBM Watson Health methodology, practices and standards
Liaison with Platform, Dev, R&D & 3rd party support teams
Create and maintain build pipeline components
Maintain systems documentation, SOPs, and Compliance documentation.
Assist with support of delivery, system and software support investigations
Prepare technical reports as required
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
5+ years hands-on experience with complex systems
Ability to excel within an Agile environment.
Ability to rapidly come up to speed on a complex server environment
Ability to assume leadership responsibility over projects, organizing and prioritizing project subtasks, and identifying both project risk and strategies to mitigate it.
Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to multitask; can set priorities and follow a timeline.
Deployment Scripting Systems (Chef, Puppet, Ansible (preferred))
Scripting Languages (Ruby, Python, Shell, etc.)
Software Build Systems (Graddle, Maven, Docker build),
CI Systems (Jenkins, etc.)
Version Control (Gitlab, Github)
