IBM Linux/Unix Operator 2nd Level Support in BUDAPEST, Hungary

Currently we are looking for a new colleague in our second level Unix/Linux team who will be responsible for providing Linux services for various customers from the aviation industry to ensure the effective, efficient and secure operation of large number of business critical systems. Join us now!

Responsibilities

  • ensure the handling of incoming incidents according to the valid procedures and policies,· monitoring, alarm handling, resolution of outages,· execute scheduled and ad-hoc maintenance activities on the managed systems,

  • participation in service-takeovers per requirements,

  • communication and administration connected to operation,· know and verify the existence of systems and procedures required to fulfill operational requirements, generate proposals for these if needed,

  • solve the service requests assigned by other support team/group,

  • provide customer service for 2nd level operations,· assure customer satisfaction,

  • inform Manager on Duty, Shiftleader, line manager about urgent and important topics respectively per requirements,

  • precise handover of the shift,

  • compliance of the business processes in the operations,

  • complete administration tools timely and precisely.

  • Work in 24/7 shifts (8 hours)

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Experience/knowledge of one LINUX distribution

  • Preferably 1 year work experience in similar position (Installation, Administration, Configuration and Technical support in LINUX infrastructures)

  • Basic network knowledge

  • Basic Linux performance management experience

  • English: Intermediate level (spoken and written)

  • Communication skills and teamwork

  • “Can do” attitude

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • Working experience in Database administration

  • Basic knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP)

  • Background support of LINUX systems running corporate business applications

  • Good problem solving skills

  • Fluency in Hungarian
