Job Description

The architects in the BNL Security Services practice should be technology and solution advisors with pragmatic experience in one or more particular security domain. These architects will act in many ways as technology consultants ans solution designers that can speak about the security landscape, architectural models and solutions credibly, and possess the ability to discuss and present to senior members of a client team. The architect needs a depth of knowledge and experience in one of the core security domains: Identify and Access Management; Application and Data security; Infrastructure and Endpoint; SOC enablement and Security Intelligence / SIEM. The Security architect should also be able to speak to the breadth of the landscape at an introductory level as well. The architect will provide subject matter expertise through delivery of workshops, as a member of consulting engagements, and as leader on solution design and deployment projects. The architect should be experienced in solution design methodologies and have the ability to generate high quality artifacts such as requirements artifacts, high level and detailed designs and deployment plans. He should be both ambitious and realistic in the design of security solutions.

Tasks & accountabilities

• Design, build and implement security systems for a client environment

• Align to widely accepted security standards and frameworks and security with overall business and technology strategy

• Identify and communicate current and emerging security threats

• Adapt security architecture elements to mitigate threats as they emerge

• Create solutions that balance business requirements with information and cyber security requirements

• Identify security design gaps in existing and proposed architectures and recommend changes or enhancements

Domain Skills

  • Depth of technical and functional knowledge in one or more of the core security domains: GRC, IAM, Security Operations, SIEM, Application, Data or Infrastructure, Mobile Security

  • Experience in the design and deployment of technology and solutions in one of the core domains: Identify and Access Management; Application and Data security; Infrastructure and Endpoint; and Security Intelligence / SIEM

  • An understanding across this breadth of technology domains, understanding the inter-relationships between major components.

  • Solid understanding and experience working a structured solution design methodologyAt least 3-5 years of experience in designing and implementing security architectures

  • Experience with the design and build of two or more different security solutions (like Vulnerability Management, SIEM, Network Security, Endpoint Detection & Response ,... )

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in systems integration and overall IT architecture

  • Expertise in creating technical documentation of Architecture, Design, Use cases and Test cases.

  • Ability to work in an international context and excellent communication skills

  • The ability to guide virtual teams and be a primary facilitator

  • Strong written skills

  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and working relationships in a project-based / client-serving model, and to work closely with people at different levels of an organization

  • Ability to lead and shape client expectations

  • Help drive pursuits and engage in complex deals, matching outcomes to expectations

The successful architect will be internal advisor to other IBM consultants and client teams. The consultant will assist in pre-sales, sales, closure, and then organizing the delivery of security consulting services with local teams.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • At least 3 years’ experience in designing and implementing security architectures in a particular security domain

  • Experience with the design and build of two or more different security solutions (like Vulnerability Management, SIEM, Network Security, Endpoint Detection & Response)

  • At least 5 years’ experience working in a professional services firm focused on systems integration projects

  • Expertise in creating technical documentation of Architecture, Design, Use cases and Test cases.

  • At least 3 years’ experience working in projects related to the core domain

  • Working across diverse teams to facilitate solutions

  • Working with Security practitioners

  • Customer related travel 35% inside IMT

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • Experience in working international deployment roles

  • At least 8 years’ experience in professional services focused on systems integration

  • At least 5 years’ experience in working within a particular security domain

  • CISPP, CISM certification

  • Languages: Fluency in English and Dutch and French
