IBM North America Managed Security Services Leader in Bethesda, Maryland

Job Description

The IBM Security Services North America Practice is seeking to hire an experienced Managed Services Leader with significant experience leading multiple delivery organizations in support of North America Managed Security Services clients. The successful candidate will have experience leading pursuits and projects in managed services, interfacing with multiple accounts, sales and delivery teams in a matrixed environment, and building teams to help transition clients to a broad portfolio of managed services.

The successful candidate will:

  • Assume responsibility for all Managed Security Services activities and clients within North America

  • Help drive, structure, organize managed services pursuits and lead client conversations, conveying the value proposition and solutions proposed

  • Oversee successful delivery of transition of clients to a shared service managed services model and/or cloud

  • Assume signings, revenue and profitability responsibility for the Managed Services portfolio for North America

  • Serve as the primary client interface as the North America Managed Security Services Leader.

  • Successfully manage within a matrixed organization with multiple stakeholders. IBM Managed Security Services is fast paced environment which requires high production, organization and self -motivation.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a well-developed process is in place to manage pursuits within North America – working with North America business leadership, various Managed Services delivery teams, and various Security competency teams.

  • Own the client account management process for North America

  • Work closely with IBM geo leaders and related business units identifying and resolving client issues

  • Ensure a well-developed process is in place for pipeline awareness and tracking

  • Manage managed services revenue growth (portfolio) and profit attainment

  • Ensure a well-developed process is in place to ensure sufficient capacity management to address current and emerging managed services engagement needs

  • Work with the global delivery support teams to ensure deployment project preparedness

  • Act as the escalation and communications focal for managed services activity

  • Responsible for customer satisfaction within North America

  • Provide all relevant data and for regular business reporting

  • Attract and recruit the team necessary to support client pursuit, transition and account management activity

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • ​At least 5 years of management and leadership experience of large dispersed teams in a managed services environment

  • At least 10 years of experience with multiple information security systems

  • Extensive experience interacting, presenting and working with C level executives (CEO, CIO, etc.)

  • Successful hands-on full life cycle project experience to include planning, budgeting, reporting and managing deliverables

  • Proven experience managing complex budgets, controlling costs, capital expenses and expense management

  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in a matrix environment

  • Ability to travel as needed up to 75%

  • Excellent client interaction and relationship building skills with ability to work both middle and executive management

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, organization and teaming skills

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • At least 8 years of management and leadership experience of large dispersed teams in a managed services environment

  • Certified project manager (with strong demonstrated project/program management experience with strong understanding of project management tools.)
