The Ab Initio Developer will manage and maintain interfaces built with Ab Initio software between operational & external environments to the business intelligence environment. Skills include designing and developing extract, transform and load (ETL) processes. Experience includes application support of a business intelligence solution.

Other responsibilities may include:

  • The Ab Initio Developer may design end to end Business Intelligence Solutions across multiple platforms with extensive experience on very large data repositories (terabyte scale or larger).

  • Understanding of data lake approaches, and industry practices.

  • Understanding of HADOOP Framework, Ecosystem and MapReduce.

  • Experience with one or more of these skills: HDFS, HBase, HIVE, PIG, SQL

  • Working with ETL infrastructures from variety of data sources

  • Building analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics.

The role focuses on the elements required to manage data and information (both structured and unstructured) from business requirements to logical and physical design. You will be delivering solutions in the Big Data, Analytics, Business Intelligence and/or Data Warehousing domain for our clients.

Successful candidates for these positions will work onsite at the IBM Client Innovation Center in Baton Rouge. The IBM Client Innovation Center is an in-bound delivery model where we support our clients from our Baton Rouge center. However, some travel is expected and all candidates must be willing and able to travel to meet our client needs across the US. Travel is typically related to knowledge transfer and training at the client site (Monday thru Friday). You are expected to travel up to 50% of the time. This is a traditional office position. You must live in, or be willing to relocate to, Louisiana. The work location is 100 North Street Baton Rouge, LA 70802. This is not a work from home position.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • At Least 9 years of overall IT experience

  • At least 5 years of ETL Development experience

  • At least 2 years experience with Ab Initio

  • Experience with managing and maintaining interfaces built with Ab Initio software between operational & external environments to the business intelligence environment.

  • Experience with designing and developing extract, transform and load (ETL) processes.

  • Experience includes application support of a business intelligence solution.

  • Ab Initio software experience.

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • Ab Initio Architect Experience

  • Experience in a data warehouse environment and knowledge of existing and emerging data integration approaches
