Business Unit Introduction

IBM Global Technology Services (GTS) helps clients plan, implement and manage an efficient, resilient, flexible IT infrastructure. IBM GTS is the partner of choice for infrastructure services – be it transformational outsourcing tied to business outcomes or integrated managed services or discrete services

Who you are:

  • The Technical Architect owns strategy for a Digital Workplace, determines its user value proposition, and defines the differentiated offering. I

  • Will be able to design high level and low level technical solutions and has a track record of communicating and defending the technical solutions to senior audiences in client organizations.

What you’ll do :

  • The role of the Technical Architect will be aligned to Digital Workplace Services markets namely Workplace Modernization Services (Managed Mobility, Desktop /Application Virtualization, and Collaboration Services)

  • In addition to the above technologies the preferred candidate will display strong knowledge in the following areas when applied to Infrastructure solutions – Automation, Artificial Intelligence and Analytics.

  • Develops and delivers innovative offerings to market, defining all offering elements and value proposition including components (e.g., services, products, etc.), functionality, UI/UX needs, customer success, digital engagement, APIs, and ecosystem requirements.

  • Brings fresh thinking from experience building business cases, launching differentiated offerings, and designing new Go To Market strategies. Has worked across disciplines/Units to launch new offerings or features with demonstrated commercial success. Is able to design low level technical solutions and has a track record of communicating and defending the technical solutions to CxO audiences.

  • Technical Architect will sit in the Units and Brands but are expected to lead cross discipline teams, drawing upon resources and expertise across IBM.

  • The focus is on creating complete solutions that may include services as well as ecosystems, go to market, and enablement.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
