Who you are:

  • Senior Linux Administrator, administering Linux server’s platforms like RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu along with exposure to Windows Servers Administration.

  • Hands-on x-86 Virtualization technologies.

  • Has implemented security compliance like ISO27001, HIPAA, PCI-DSS on Linux Servers

  • Integration of Active Directory with Linux .

What you'll do:

  • The candidate will work in a 24 x 7 project team environment supporting external clients. Provide support of IBM Datacap, Filenet by performing administrative functions.

  • Key Responsibilities include.

  • Integration of Microsoft Active Directory and Linux

  • Installing, updating, troubleshooting Linux/Unix server software

  • Monitoring server performance and storage utilization.

  • Verify that peripherals are working properly

  • Create file systems

  • Create and implement backup and recovery policies.

  • Implement the policies to ensure Servers are adhering to security standards like ISO27001, HIPAA, PCI-DSS etc

  • Setup security policies for users. Must have a strong grasp of computer security (e.g. firewalls and intrusion detection systems).

  • Monitor, identify, and resolve production capacity, contention, and resource deficiencies.

  • Basic Linux/Unix administration server builds, NFS, NIS, Shell scripting, Performance tuning, proactive monitoring, patch management, and Linux workstation End-user support.

  • Performance tuning for Linux machines. Root Cause analysis to be performed and corrective action to be planned and executed.

  • Implement software and hardware RAID solutions, including Veritas Volume

  • Working with QRADAR, IBM Big Fix and Antivirus software for Linux Servers.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Candidates who have experience implementing Virtualization technologies.

  • Linux/Unix administration like server builds, NFS, NIS, Shell scripting, Performance tuning, Proactive monitoring, Patch management, and Linux workstation end-user support.

  • Must have experience in Installing, updating, troubleshooting Linux/Unix server software

  • Should have good exposure to backup and recovery and Disaster Recovery policy and implementation

  • Working Knowledge of NIC configuration, Link Aggregation/bridging, Routing, VLAN, VPN etc.

  • Work Experience in compliance of Linux servers for ISO27001, HIPAA, PCI-DSS etc

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • Ability to conduct RCA and close out the actions coming out of RCA

  • Ability to interact with customers independently to understand environment, understand request for service and to present RCA outcomes

  • Experience in change management and working on change window to apply patch or make required configuration changes

  • Ability to document architecture and run-book/cook-book for various operations in application area

  • Exposure/Experience in ITIL Service Operations

  • Experience in working on tools like QRADAR, IBM Big Fix and Antivirus software will be added advantage.

  • Willing to work on Windows administration On-Demand.

  • Working Knowledge of NIC configuration, Link Aggregation/bridging, Routing, VLAN, VPN etc
