Content Strategy Manager & Editor

This is a unique and exciting opportunity within IBM Watson & Cloud Platform team – using your content marketing expertise and copywriting skills to manage IBM’s Cloud blog. The IBM Cloud blog is one of the primary drivers of organic traffic to the IBM Cloud website. It’s also the backbone of our award-winning email nurture stream for all Cloud users.
We are seeking an editorial and content strategy manager to refine and advance our editorial vision and mission and help plan, produce, and analyze the written content we create. This role will help build our editorial calendar and written guidelines, as well as determine sources for content both internally and externally. This person may also be asked to create a network of freelancers and go-to influencers in our industry, format our content, and line edit. You’ll work with representatives and content creators across the organization – from offering management to developer advocacy to technical sales engineers.
This role has the opportunity to make a huge impact in improving our inbound marketing program and publishing engaging content for developers, data scientists, IT architects, and business leaders interesting in our most exciting new AI, data, and cloud technologies.
Build our editorial calendar and written guidelines.
Determine sources for content creation, both internally and externally.
Serve as an exemplary writer, consistent with our company’s tone and mission. You write clean, concise, well-polished copy.
Edit content produced by your teammates, including conceptualizing the projects upfront and copy-editing prior to publishing.
Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and customer challenges in order to build a more effective editorial calendar.
Collaborate with designers, product marketing, sales, and external influencers and industry experts to produce relevant content that meets the needs of both key stakeholders and our audience.
Work closely with senior leaders, marketing teammates, and other departments to create effective communications strategies that articulate our product’s core benefits properly and consistently.
Excellent attention to detail both for line editing copy and consistency in style and tone across our content.
BA/BS degree or equivalent working experience.
Past experience producing content for blogs and the web specifically, as well as channel-specific knowledge (blog, SlideShare, Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
Past experience building audiences either online or offline.
A dual-minded approach: You’re highly creative and an excellent writer but can also be process-driven, think scale, and rely on data to make decisions.

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience
Experience working in journalism, tech publishing or TV
Background in computer science and programming
Experience with Wordpress, Drupal and other content management systems
Experience with content analytics, paid media and audience programs
