Job Description

A foundational requirement to achieve these goals is the development of an appropriate data platform. This position will directly help develop a user focused data platform to drive toward those goals. The primary focus of the role is to apply the data architecture, integration and governance skills to address the business needs for strategic initiatives and on-going support.

The primary responsibility in this role is as the data architect for the Visibility to Performance squad. The candidate will work in a collaborative team environment to deliver on mulitple projects including continued development of the Digital Dashboards in support of the DBG Hybrid Cloud Mission. There are also exciting new development projects in the area surrounding Cognitive projects and providing Insights to users through big data technologies.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in requirements analysis, data architecture, integrated database design, data security, performance tuning, back-up and recovery specifications

  • Expert knowledge of Big Data technologies (e.g. Hadoop, Spark, MongoDB, Pig, Hive) and Relational Databases (e.g., DB2, Netezza, Oracle, MySQL)

  • Architect, design and implement highly scalable, available, secure and elastic cloud ready data solutions based on industry best practices and using cutting edge technologies

  • Experience in defining Data standards, Data governance and Data lineage, and Data Migration between database technologies.

  • Experience with scalable cloud storage solutions including File Storage and Object Storage

  • Experience in handling large data volumes, deep understanding of the data marts, data warehouse architecture, multidimensional databases, data lakes, and data migrate.

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • Hands of scripting experience in Java/J2EE and Python.

  • Experience with Enterprise Data Warehouses and migrating data from relational databases to cloud enabled databases.

  • Experience with cloud infrastructure and data analytics offerings from IBM Bluemix including Apache Spark, Cloudant, NoSQL DB, Compose (or Elastic Search, MongoDB, and Redis), Data Connect, and DB2 on Cloud.

  • Experience working with agile teams, scrum master, Certified Scrum Master and PMP.

  • Experience in SQL and analytical skill

  • Experience in building data pipelines and ETL jobs using tools such as Infosphere Information Server (DataStage), Information and SQL Modeler that powers the OLAP, dashboards and data platforms for complex event processing and analytics components in a big data environment.

  • Knowledge of various data structures such as Relational, XML, JSON, NOSQL, Tuple Store, Columnar, in-memory and Graph DB.
