IBM WW Signings & Backlog Coordinator/S&BL Transformation Lead in ARMONK, New York

The WW Signings and Backlog (‘S&BL’) Coordinator/S&BL Transformation lead role acts as the business process owner delegate providing leadership, ownership and support for IBM’s end to end Services Signings and Backlog process. Duties include the following:

  • Maintain and update as required the IBM Worldwide Guidance for Signings Recognition and Backlog Estimation

  • Establish business requirements for and advise on topics related to S&BL systems and tools working closely with developers and system administrators to prioritize requests, resolve issues, agree to closing schedules and review system access

  • Coordinate GTS geo reps and work thru WW GBS S&BL coordinator in the S&BL process

  • Provide guidance on signings recognition, revenue coverage and backlog process/certification

  • Coordinate Fall Plan, Budget and Forecast cycles for Signings; Coordinate restates for changes in business model

  • Coordinate Signings and Backlog certifications with geo GTS CFOs and certification of total Services with VP GTS Finance and Consolidation

  • Review signings exception requests, taking forward a recommendation for approval

  • Provide process guidance to business controllers and auditors for KCO/KCFR setup, testing plans and tracking

  • WW focal and advisor for the new Revenue Accountant standard as it relates to RPO (Residual Performance Obligation) reporting

  • Work with process SMEs to identify opportunities to improve the process and implement change

  • Prepare/coordinate restates

  • S&BL SME providing support to EPM project

Must be able to work extended hours during quarter close cycles.Additional flexibility is required for occasional meetings outside of normal working hours to accommodate meetings with reps from other time zones.

Travel : 8 weeks a year (15% travel) occurring during 4 quarter close date points.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 3 - 5 years’ experience in IBM finance

  • Exposure to GTS or GBS business units

  • Demonstrated teamwork working under tight deadlines (Quarter close)

  • Demonstrated organizational and communication skills.

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • Experience in the GTS or GBS signings and backlog process or contract controlling role

  • Experience in using CAFÉ - Cognos Analysis for Excel

  • Experience with Signings and Backlog systems & Tools (SBLIW, WSB, SIT, COBALT)
