Responsibilities include:

  • Interface with Watson Health Offering teams, internal IBM units, external suppliers regarding products and services used in or in support of Watson Health Offerings

  • Perform supplier qualifications, participate in continuous supplier monitoring activities including, but not limited to issue management and audit

  • Critical thinking skills to assist Watson Health teams qualify their internal and external suppliers

  • Application of healthcare and life science regulations and standards to supplier qualification, issue management, and auditing

  • Continuously improving procedures supporting supplier qualification, management, and auditing

  • Maintaining records of supplier qualification and continuous monitoring


  • Committed to collaborative relationships within the Watson Health Compliance group and externally to IBM colleagues

  • Problem solver focused on understanding the holistic situation

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 3-5 years of experience in regulated healthcare or life science industry

  • 1-3 years of experience in software development lifecycles

  • Working knowledge of 21 CFR 820, 21 CFR 11, ISO 13485

  • Strong communication skills and commitment to interpersonal communication (ex. Phone discussions and personal meetings, when applicable)

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • 1-3 years of experience in supplier/vendor management or procurement.

  • 3-5 years of experience in regulated medical device industry

  • Previous auditing experience in the healthcare or life science industry

  • Experience in Agile software development methodology
