The Watson & Cloud Platform (W&CP) Sales Specialist owns the most strategic growth imperative of IBM in end-to-end. The Communications Market comprises of four industry verticals: Computer Science / ISV, Telco, Media and Entertainment, and Energy. S/he would be responsible to promote the Watson and Cloud portfolio into a set territory in North America:
Promoting market relevant offerings for Cloud Platform, VMWare, AI, and Developer Services.
Working with Channels team to enable an energetic go-to-market partner base that can build and deliver solutions for our clients. Working with the wider ecosystem to ensure adoption.
Prospecting and driving plays to further showcase the value of our offerings
Collaborating closely with Service Units to drive cloud offerings and align with value proposition of our clients.
Adheres to a management system and business rhythm built to accelerate this fast-growing business (with focus on both revenue (consumption) and signings)
Good mix of transaction sales and new public cloud consumption and a combination of technical business acumen.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
At least 5 years of professional sales management expertise with C-level client facing experience, strong operational and individual skills in leading sales and business development
Bold, strategic thinker with a growth mindset who seeks out opportunities, challenges status quo and proposes solutions.
Demonstrated team player and collaborator who is adept to working across the various teams, stakeholders locally and virtually.
Proven understanding of advanced cloud and data technologies such as IaaS, PaaS, ML / Deep Learning, Containers, Serverless, etc.
Preferred Tech and Prof Experience
Proven track record of demonstrated success.
Industry knowledge specific to the Communications Market.
Key customer relationships and contacts in the industry.
Specific Cloud experience with a history of selling into Fortune 500 accounts.
