IBM X-Force Incident Response & Intelligence Services (IRIS) is looking for a developer to drive intelligence operations at scale that would combine aspects of development, malware reverse engineering, and cyber threat intelligence analysis. The role requires the ability to parse data objects, develop middleware, support data interchange among a range of product formats and implementation expertise. This developer will be required to support a mix of long-term, iterative projects as well as short-notice presentations, papers, and communications. The successful candidate will have a proven ability in communicating complex material in a succinct fashion serving a wide range of user base. The key task will be helping IRIS to develop a cohesive delivery platform for real-time, actionable data. Up to 10% travel is required for training, conferences, or client engagements.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
3-5 years of experience in middleware design and/or development in enterprise cybersecurity operations
Strong background in python, C, C#, and Java
Experience developing distributed data architectures and RestfulAPIs for analysis or predictive modeling
Preferred Tech and Prof Experience
Experience working across business units to develop new workflows and processes to enhance operations
Strong desire to see projects succeed by providing alternative solutions non-conventional thought processes
Forensic software development experience a big plus
Experience with Network forensic analysis
Experience with Agile development cycles
Ability to communicate effectively with team members to ensure successful implementation of solutions that meet and ideally exceed user requirements
Some experience with front end/web development
Understanding of the concepts of pivot, pattern and trend analysis
Experience creating and deploying Docker-style applications
Ability to develop signatures and rules for threat research (YARA, Snort/Suricata).
Experience as a consumer or producer of cyber threat intelligence analysis
Support incident response partners or managed security teams
