IBM IBM Accounting Analyst in ARMONK, New York

Job Description

As an IBM Accounting Analyst you will perform a unique and integral role as a 'trusted business advisor' by supporting various internal customers including Finance, Planning, Treasury etc. throughout globally integrated IBM.

IBM Accounting has the responsibility to accurately record the company's financial performance using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, IBM Accounting Practices and Local Statutory Principles. Professionals working in this area perform complex operational and technical accounting activities, such as accounting for complex business transactions, advising the business on technical accounting matters, and performing financial performance reporting and analysis with insight and understanding of the key business drivers. In this role, you must have deep understanding of Europe and MEA IBM financial systems, including ledger, in order to provide comprehenisve and meaningful information to the various stakeholders.

Candidates must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and support senior executives on accounting matters in a timely fashion. IBM is looking for people who have a passion for the information technology industry and are determined to achieve long term success at IBM.

Required Professional and Technical Expertise:

  • Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience

  • Effective written and oral communication

  • Possess or strong interest to apply US GAAP accounting rules in a complex, SEC regulated, technology company

  • Demonstrate working knowledge of computer skills including the Office suite of products

  • Demonstrate professional written and oral communication skills

  • Fluent in English

Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and data management (e.g. Access, SQL, QMF, etc.)
