IBM Research Staff Member in YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, New York

The Data Centric Systems department at the IBM T. J. Watson Research Center seeks Research Staff Members for research and development of future High Performance Computing (HPC) and High Performance Analytics (HPA) systems and applications. The Data Centric Systems department works collaboratively with many leading HPC organizations around the world to carry out research and development of exascale class systems for research, industrial, and commercial use. Responsibilities will include research and development in the design and optimization of HPC/HPA and visualization algorithms, applications, and workflows; projection of performance on new system architectures; development of system software including system and resource management and runtime for messaging; and collaboration in the design of processors, networks, and storage systems for optimal system performance. A Ph.D. in Computational Science or Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science or Engineering, Computational Physics, or a related field is required. Candidates should have a strong knowledge of HPC/HPA architectures, parallel programming and performance profiling techniques to achieve high performance on these systems, and associated software and tools.The World is Our Laboratory No matter where discovery takes place, IBM researchers push the boundaries of science, technology and business to make the world work better.   • At least 1 year of experience in system software and middleware

  • At least 1 year of experience in processor technology, networks, storage systems

  • At least 1 year of experience in development skills
