The commercialization of the technology from IBM Research is through the newly formed IBM Watson Business Units. Description:We have many openings for the position of Post-Doctoral Researcher in Cognitive Computing, for performing foundational research in a wide range of topics such as, analysis and extraction of knowledge from large volumes of structured and unstructured data (i.e. text, images, video, speech, etc.), machine learning, probabilistic reasoning, logic & rule-based systems, human-machine interaction, building and validation of cognitive systems, robotics, wearable computing, cognitive science, etc. We are particularly interested in candidates with skills to explore technology required for doing complex cognitive tasks in natural language understanding, video/image analysis, dialog, decision making, automatic text generation and summarization, and understanding technical documents. Candidates with strong publication records in cognitive computing are encouraged to apply. This position is for one year, with a potential to be renewed annually up to three years, ideally suited for someone who would like to have some industrial research experience before making a decision on a longer term career in academia or industry. This position is also good for people planning to make transition from related disciplines to cognitive computing. The candidate is expected to conduct world-class research on new cognitive computing techniques, publish in top-tier conferences and journals. The candidates are also expected to contribute to the commercialization of the resulting assets. Strong communication skills and ability to work in team are essential. Working Independently with latest tools and frameworks in cognitive software environments is highly desired.
