IBM Tivoli Administrator in WARSZAWA, Poland

You will administer various IBM tools. Selection of tools will cover one or more of the following products:

  • Systems Monitoring: ITM v6 or newer (IBM Tivoli Monitoring), APM v8, Netcool Omnibus, Netcool Impact, Tivoli Integrated Portal, Tivoli Enterprise Portal

  • Network Monitoring: NOI (Netcool Operations Insight), ITNM (IBM Tivoli Network Manager), ITNCM (IBM Tivoli Netcool configuration Manager), NPI, IBM Network Performance Insight

  • Systems Automation: BigFix v9.0 or newer (IBM Endpoint Manager)

  • Systems Inventory: TADDM (Tivoli Application Dependency and Discovery Manager)

In this role you will be responsible for ensuring tools availability, accessibility, functionality and stability, working around Incident/Problem/Change management processes.Day to day activities:

  • Corrective Maintenance (Problem determination, Error fixing, Removal of incorrect data caused by program errors, Release fix to target environment, Perform Root cause analysis)

  • Tools Support (Support to end-users, Contact with lab, Processing problem tickets)

  • Enhancements (Enhancements to existing functionalities, Adaptive changes/migrations due to new software releases, Evaluating new functionalities)

  • Solutions (limited Software Development using script languages, Solution Integration, Supporting Tools Roll-out)

  • Cooperation with other teams towards problem resolution/avoidance.

In addition to daily support, there will be an opportunity to participate in short and long-term projects around infrastructure improvement, upgrades and migrations, adding visible values to customer business.Ideal candidate for this position demonstrates:

  • Working experience of SQL, ability to run SQL queries

  • Experience of work with virtual systems using ether: VMware farm, KVM

  • Some knowledge of security policies for Unix servers

  • Experience of installing updates to applications and/or to the system

  • Experience of installing software packages

  • Knowledge about network services

  • Knowledge how to write shell scripts and Perl scripts

  • Readiness to learn

  • Ability to work in a team

Other desirable skills:

  • Knowledge of Tivoli products (Omnibus, ITM, Tivoli Enterprise Portal, TADDM)

  • Deeper knowledge of Unix systems - AIX, RedHat Linux, SuSE Linux

  • Knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle, DB2, MySQL or others (and OLAP tools)

  • Experience with any cloud orchestrator

  • Experience with any public cloud: AWS, Google Cloud, IBM SoftLayer, Microsoft Azure

  • Working experience of: Vagrant, Docker, Chef, Puppet, Openstack, or Bluemix

  • Knowledge of Websphere Application Server

  • Knowledge how to configure and run Java applications

  • Working experience of administering mission-critical or high-availability systems (7x24)
