IBM Senior Lawyer - Sydney/Melbourne in Sydney, Australia

You will review, interpret and counsel on federal, state and local laws, agency rulings, IBM policies and practices, business conduct and ethics. You will also be involved in drafting and reviewing agreements, contracts and other documents involving financial exposures. The role will also assumes additional responsibilities as assigned. Role requirements

  • At least 10 years’ experience as a Lawyer

  • Current practising certificate, NSW or other Australian state.

  • Strong academic background.

  • Experience in major law firm, including secondments to corporates, or a mix of law firm and in-house experience.

  • Experience in IT (SO, Cloud, Systems Integration, As-a-Services offerings) or consulting services (vendor experience preferred).

  • Strong commercial negotiation and drafting skills.

  • Complex multi-party transactional experience desirable.

  • International experiences either through working with a global firm, global corporation or overseas work experience desirable.

  • Needs to be a strong team player and capable of working unsupervised.

  • Dynamic, enthusiastic personality.

  • Capable of building strong relationships with the business.

  • Some interstate and NZ travel may be required for matters.

  • People management experience, with strong leadership skills or potential.
