The ADL Sydney team is currently seeking a Japanese or/and Mandarin speaking Graduate Software Engineer to support Japanese or/and Mandarin and international customers world-wide. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to interact with Japanese or/and Mandarin and international customers while working on a diverse range of software products from operating systems to open source software - representing the major brands in IBM Software Group and from the Systems and Technology Group. Opportunities for short periods of travel in Australia and overseas may arise from time to time.While each location is unique in the innovative products they support and the skills required, the successful candidate will work in small dynamic teams, supporting the products in all stages of the software development lifecycle. Graduates who join the ADL receive hands-on experience installing and testing products, fixing defects, writing project documentation, diagnosing and resolving client problems, designing and developing code components and providing technical support to clients across A/NZ, Asia and around the world.• Have a Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following: - Engineering (Electrical/Computer Systems/Software Engineering); - Science (Electrical/Computer Systems); - Information Technology Knowledge required:• C, C++• C# and Java programming• Scripting languages Knowledge in 2 or more is preferred:• Operating systems principles• Unix/Linux development environments• Windows development environments• Web Server Technology• Networking• Relational Databases• Multi-threaded programming• Object Oriented Development Knowledge in the following technologies is advantageous:• Scripting Languages (Shell, Perl, Visual Basic, Python)• Security Technologies (SSL, PKI, Java Security)• UML Modelling• Web application development (HTML, Applets, J2EE)• Web services (XML, SOAP, Service-orientated architecture) Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Have Australian citizenship or Australian Permanent Residency

  • Have New Zealand citizenship or New Zealand Permanent Residency

  • Have at least a credit average from respective universities

  • You will be enrolled in a tertiary degree at University in Australia/ New Zealand

  • Candidates must be from Australian or New Zealand Universities

  • Have no more than 2 years relevant work experience
