IBM Lease and Real Estate Accounting Analyst in SOMERS, New York

As an IBM Lease Accounting Analyst, you will work on a project team to implement new FASB lease accounting rules. Initial project stages will involve becoming a subject matter expert in the new literature, transitioning IBM to a new lease system, ensuring processes are created to meet operational and reporting requirements and get involved in education and training to IBM lease accountants worldwide. You will perform a unique and integral role as a 'trusted business advisor' by influencing key business decisions, supporting internal operations and contributing to business results. IBM Accounting has the responsibility to accurately record the company's financial performance using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, IBM Accounting Practices and Local Statutory Principles. Professionals working in this area are involved in some or all of the following activities:

  • Accounting for complex business transactions

  • Advising the business on technical accounting matters

  • Performing financial performance reporting and analysis

  • Maintaining accounting systems and applications

You will be responsible to provide comprehensive and meaningful information to management through interpretation of financial data while ensuring high standards of control over financial reporting.   • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience

  • Proficiency in data analytics, document preparation and powerpoint presentations

  • Effective written and oral communication
