Manage full spectrum of tax compliance including corporate income tax, withholding tax, indirect tax, and any other relevant taxes for all entities in GCG
Manage tax assessments and tax audits to closure
Track tax legislation changes in GCG and optimize tax opportunities for IBM, and update business and functional units on the applicable regulatory changes that impact them
Provide practical tax solutions to BU’s and HQ on financial and operational issues, which include cross border transactions, acquisitions and divestitures
Interface with local tax authorities and government agencies with respect to tax assessments, tax audits and resolve any relevant tax issues
Coordinate the use of external tax or legal advisors where necessary
Manage tax incentives and ensure fulfillment of incentive conditions
Work with Accounting on FAS 109 reporting
Manage FAS 5 reserves
Support HQ in various internal reporting including provide analyses on FIN 48 positions, International Tax Reporting, etc
Ensure Singapore is SOX compliant
Manage internal audits
Support AP and Corporate HQs in researching and implementing tax planning opportunities and special projects, support global or regional M&A activities.
Manage and mentor tax staff
A minimum of 15+ years relevant experience in tax environment (both income and indirect taxes) including substantial experience with a Big Four Firm or reputable MNC (US MNC would be a plus) and or experience with National Tax office
MBA, or Law Degree, or CPA certificate or equivalent.
Strong China tax compliance and advisory experience including experience in managing tax compliance for multiple entities, working with tax treaties, withholding taxes and indirect taxes would be preferred.
Able to translate technical decisions /strategies into business terms and implications.
Working knowledge in FAS 109 and FIN 48 concepts will be a plus.
A self starter who can work both independently and as part of a team.
Must be able to prioritize, multi-task, and take ownership of the projects.
