IBM Research Brazil is looking for a full time researcher to join the Natural Resources Analytics group, to work on data-driven analytics for natural resources. The group focuses particularly on the development of predictive modeling techniques, leveraging structured and unstructured data to derive insights for improved decision making in oil&gas, mining and agriculture. The researcher will be expected to perform methodological research with impact on the global academic and scientific community, while at the same time solving problems that arise in the context of IBM business and R&D environment. The candidate must have experience in conducting machine learning, statistics, pattern recognition, signal processing or data mining research for solving real world problems. The candidate must have a demonstrated track record through publications and demonstrated project participation. Experience with one or more of the following areas is a plus:1) natural language processing,2) spatio-temporal data analysis,3) image processing.The candidate must demonstrate a strong professional character and the ability to carry out world-class research.Communication skills in English and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team are required.
