IBM Cloud Network Architect in Raleigh, North Carolina

IBM is seeking experienced and dynamic cloud networking architects to work directly with strategic customer accounts and to architect and implement cloud solutions for customers’ infrastructure. An ideal candidate should have excellent technical credentials, extensive experience in cloud networking infrastructure design and implementation, excellent communication skills, and professional approach in advising customers to solve their complex cloud networking challenges. The Cloud Networking Architect is a technical, customer-facing role having paramount impact on customers’ experience with IBM cloud solutions. As a Cloud Networking Architect, you will be responsible for:

  • Working closely with customers, and leading technical and business value discussions

  • Advising customers in the architecture and deployment of solutions that meets their technical, business and compliance needs

  • Designing cloud migration strategies and implementing state-of-the-art cloud networking technologies for customers

  • Contributing to identifying, developing and implementing technical best practices guidelines

Key Requirements:

  • 15+ years' experience in working with customers in identifying their business and technical requirements, and designing and/or implementing optimal networking solutions for them

  • Proven track record of thought leadership in a customer-facing, consulting role

  • Deep understanding of cloud technologies, such as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Servic (PaaS), Software-defined networks (SDN), Network Functions Virtualization (NFV), Openstack, and other emerging technologies

  • 5 years’ experience in migrating and/or extending on-premises networks to the cloud

  • 5 years’ experience in troubleshooting and solving networking issues

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with customers

  • Effective presentation skills

  • Ability to travel onsite to customer locations as necessary

  • 4 years’ experience with Multi-site load balancing, DNS

  • 4 years’ experience with VPN, IPSEC, SSL, GRE tunneling

  • 3 years’ experience with Access Control Lists, Security groups

  • 5 years’ experience with perimeter firewalls, Web application firewalls – Vyatta, Fortigate

  • 5 years’ experience with IPv6, BYoIP, Network Address Translation (NAT)

  • 3 years’ experience in Scripting knowledge

  • 1 year experience in a client-facing role
