Your future made with IBMIBM is now hiring Early ProfessionalsProvide advanced safety professional knowledge and practice for the 1) Recognition and evaluation of potential hazards, and 2) Development and implementation of comprehensive employee safety, health and well-being controls in complex manufacturing and research environments. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Devises, coordinates and conducts surveys and investigations in complex environments (e.g. high voltage, work with chemicals, contractors, high noise laboratories and manufacturing operations) to address current and future occupational well-being needs;

  • Reviews and approves the design and installation of complex manufacturing equipment;

  • Interprets internal and external safety policies and practices (as well as awareness of trends and advancements within the discipline) as they relate to occupational health and safety;

  • Develops, implements and manages high quality programs;

  • Effectively teams with others to provide employee safety and health services and develop/implement new employee well-being initiatives;

  • Participates in regional geographical well-being audits and peer reviews;

  • Utilizes research and observation skills to identify safety, health and well-being challenges and leverage business perspective to define innovative solutions;

  • Uses knowledge from several technical disciplines to recognize potential hazards, determine root causes and recommend action plans for highly complex issues;

  • Maintains professional confidence and independence to effectively engage with site partnering peers, management and leadership to resolve safety-related challenges; and,

  • Maintains leadership skills required for providing technical direction to lead significant multi-functional teams and conduct special projects.
