The z Systems Performance team has an opening for a co-op/intern to identify hardware performance characteristics by developing test approaches, executing measurements and doing analysis on the resulting data in support the hardware in areas such as memory, cache, and I/O. We work with IBM development teams to produce leading-edge technologies in parallel computing, virtualization, Linux/kernel, and analytics. The candidate will be working with z Systems teams and will be responsible for understanding H/W performance objectives, defining a test approach, executing measurements, and analysis of test results. The candidate should have team-based software (SW) development experience and understanding of computer architecture. The candidate who is a self-starter and has proven communication skills is preferred. IBM Systems develops and implements a full range of technologies that power many of the world’s information systems, including servers, semiconductors, storage devices, and networking components.
