IBM Senior Manager - Operation Planning and Optimization - T&T in New York, New York

The Go To Market Strategy Senior Manager role is responsible for supporting successful sales and delivery of Strategy and Analytics Travel and Transportation (T&T) initiatives. This Senior Manager will have direct involvement in selling T&T opportunities and delivery of solutions. Specifically, the Senior Manager will assist clients in optimizing business processing, aligning business processing with business transformation and growth.The Operation Planning and Optimization Senior Manager will assist clients to identify business process inefficiencies within and between functions and organizations, to optimize the processes, to align processes with future strategies and transformational planning, to align and streamline processes and to instill capabilities and rules that would enable the client to maintain optimized processes. Taking into account economic, regulatory, environmental and technological drivers that create opportunities and business model disruptions, the Operation Planning and Optimization Senior Manager will work with clients to address fundamental questions, such as: How can I reduce the losses caused by errors in planning and execution? How can I speed up execution of certain decisions? How can I increase my organization efficiency? How can I align my processes with the new growth strategy? How can I align two organization merged together as a result of recent acquisition?Required Responsibilities:

  • Assessing client existing processes, identifying gaps, determining optimized processes aligned with client future strategy, supporting the implementation of new processes, and identifying relevant tools to sustain optimized processes

  • Providing advice and counsel to clients, oversight and accountability for delivery success, and client satisfaction

  • Providing client and IBM team leadership in delivery of projects that span technical and business components of Process Optimization, as well as drive of sales efforts for new and future work

  • Supporting the identification, development, and closure of sales efforts in support of an identified sales target including the completion of proposals, participation in business development activities, identification of new opportunities

  • Providing T&T thought leadership, business strategy guidance, strategies, and best practices

  • Maintaining business strategy references, approaches, IBM contacts and competitive analysis

  • Assisting with building and leading internal communities of IBM business strategy practitioners

  • Leading or contributing to the creation of IBM positions on specific business strategy topics

  • Defining, developing and using repeatable consulting business strategy solutions

  • Transferring knowledge to local IBM teams through training and side-by-side engagement work

The successful candidate will have these qualities:

  • Proficiency in developing channel and client relationships, assisting in identifying and closing new business, and helping develop thought leadership in Operation Planning and Optimization

  • Delivery experience at a consulting firm focused on T&T clients

  • Delivered large transformation engagements for T&T clients in the areas of process transformation, large scale program management, and enterprise or business unit strategies

  • Demonstrated sustained ownership of client relationships beyond individual projects within the business units and IT teams at T&T clients

  • Demonstrated evidence of growing industry consulting teams targeted at T&T industry clients

  • At least 4 years experience in delivery and management of business strategy consulting engagements - with a consulting firm or professional services organization

  • At least 5 years experience in one or more of the following: Process Integration, Process Mapping, New Process Development, Operation Alignment, and Sales and Marketing Transformation

  • At least 4 years experience in Travel and Transportation industry segments (Airlines, Hotels, Transportation, Shipping, and/or related areas) spanning both large scale sales and delivery of consulting work

  • Readiness to travel Up to 4 days a week (home on weekends-based on project requirements)

  • English: Intermediate
