IBM MD&I is a global team of market research analysts and consultants that deliver integrated insights for topics of importance to IBM business leaders and strategists. Our design-focused organization applies IBM Design Thinking and Agile principles to provide services that empower IBMers with the knowledge and confidence to make fact-based decisions. As an MD&I designer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support MD&I experiences such as our brand expression, visual identity, and end-to-end user journeys. You are a critical thinker and empathetic problem solver who desires to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will collaborate with analysts and consultants to understand emerging markets, evaluate client needs, and effectively communicate ideas and strategies. Responsibilities include:- Working with Design Team manager and MD&I leadership to shape and evolve the mission and strategy of MD&I design- Leading and providing feedback and guidance to less experienced designers across several multi-disciplinary project initiatives - Prioritizing design work by assessing business requirements, user needs, business impact, and feasibility- Collaborating with colleagues and consulting IBM business leaders to assess design needs for projects- Extending and applying our brand identity and design language in developing creative concepts, web and mobile products, internal presentations, and external reports- Translate complex business insights and market data into visualizations, interactions, and experiences that are easily understood- Crafting and delivering low to high-fidelity designed experiences, informed by market and user research- Identifying business and design strategy opportunities at both the team and organization levels- Understanding user contexts, analyzing needs and opportunities, prototyping and iterating on concepts, and evaluating user experiences- Understanding and practicing IBM Design Thinking across MD&I in different contexts to create meaningful user-focused outcomes Candidates should exhibit the following strengths:- Drive and passion for excellence- Relationship-building and leadership skills that inspire action - Communication, storytelling, and prototyping skills- Problem solving and analytical skills - Strong attention to detail and design processesThis position will be located in Atlanta (GA) or Research Triangle Park (NC) or in Austin (TX).
3+ years experience in visual, interactive, UX, industrial design or similar
3+ year experience demonstrating skills in design tools such as Sketch 3, Adobe Creative Suite, Keynote
