IBM Network Administrator in New York, New York

IBM Cloud Operations Services (SOS) team is looking for additional team members to assist in our growing demand for services across multiple IBM offerings. Candidate should be a motivated team player with strong desire for standardization and automation. The SOS team is designed to solve the most common security and availability requirements of IBM Cloud applications. SOS helps teams standardize on a common set of tools, providing efficiency of costs and capabilities. Our services are developed to support a diverse set of delivery environments of varying sizes including cloud, co-locations, and managed service deployments. The goal of SOS is to provide a common view across IBM Cloud offerings.As a Network Administrator, your key responsibilities include:

  • Integration of Network routing, firewalls, and Virtual Private Network (VPN) solutions.

  • Provide and review best practice recommendations for architecture, design, management and operation of Networking infrastructure.

  • Configure monitoring to ensure proactive resolution to alerts

  • Assess the End User’s infrastructure and make recommendations on improvement and optimization.

  • Design or provide advice on Networking solutions within infrastructure projects.

  • Define and conduct testing procedures for new infrastructure projects.

  • Isolate and troubleshoot Network related issues

  • Ensure client expectations are properly managed and that technical issues are resolved to the customer's satisfaction in a timely manner.

  • Isolate or reproduce reported problems in a lab.

  • Work with escalation support and product development teams to bring highly complex customer issues to timely resolution.

  • Involvement in the creation and completion of departmental and individual goals aimed at improving Brocade’s technical support organization.

  • Document all events and interactions related to resolving customer’s technical issues.


  • At least 2 years’ experience Linux Operating System (OS) Administration

  • At least 3 years’ experience Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) - possesses fundamentals such as the various Open System Interconnection (OSI) layers

  • At least 2 years’ experience administering and configuring Juniper or Cisco devices (Firewall, Routers)

  • At least 2 years’ routing protocols and technologies

  • At least 2 years’ experience in Security technologies and best practices

  • At least 2 years’ Windows/Unix-specific networking

  • At least 1 year of experience in Scripting and automation skills (Bash, Perl, etc.)
