Job related activities:

  • Forge critical relationships with CIO, CISO and CTO level staff at IBM customers

  • Develop working level knowledge of the customer’s IT environment and provide consultation on the security posture and vulnerability remediation

  • Act as a single point of contact on security related issues

  • Provide support for Information Security requests: Review security policy clarifications and exception requests; lead Security projects; triage general security questions from other internal teams.

  • Assist the customers with the creation and adoption of information security policies and procedures in their IT environment

  • Lead and assist the effort on creating IT security strategy for the IBM customers

  • Tune, monitor and analyze network traffic and respond to IDS alerts

  • Analyze network and host-based security logs to identify potential security threats.

  • Participate in incident response and triage

  • Design cybersecurity architecture for public, private cloud solutions and on-prem infrastructure.

  • Manage the implementation of the cybersecurity solution to meet architectural requirements.

  • Develop strategies for cybersecurity operations within cloud solutions.

  • Provide recommendations for cybersecurity process improvements and automation.

  • Manage the implementation of new cybersecurity processes and automation.

  • Provide recommendations and create IT security policies and procedures.

  • Ensure the cybersecurity architecture is compliant with all regulatory requirements provided under FISMA, OMB, and DHS.

  • Any industry Certifications such as CISSP, CISA, GCIA, GCIH, etc.

  • 12+ years of experience with different aspects of Information Security including knowledge of network, web and platform technologies and secure application development methods.

  • Ability to obtain required government clearances

  • Extensive knowledge of the Linux operating system

  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP protocol

  • Experience scripting and software automation (Python, Perl, Ruby)

  • Experience with leading cloud vendor technologies (AWS, IBM, Azure etc.)

  • Experience with one or more of the following types of technologies:

  • SIEM (Splunk, Arcsight, QRadar, etc)

  • Firewalls, both network and host based

  • Application or web content filtering


  • File Integrity Monitoring

  • Vulnerability management tools

  • Application and network scanning tools

  • DLP and Encryption

  • Network forensics
