What You Will Be DoingThe Associate Partner, Global Business Services (GBS) Demand Origination will identify and develop key opportunities within the Industrial, Financial Services, Communications, or Distribution Sectors, with particular focus on one or more industries within the Sector. Your primary responsibilities include opportunity identification, opportunity progression, and unique value proposition development with the goal being to increase top line revenue generation for GBS. You will be responsible for understanding the breadth of offerings that IBM can provide, and being highly collaborative within the organization. You will work closely with leadership to oversee the development of market business plans and business development strategy that lead to sector specific sales across IBM and particularly in your industry and sectorResponsibilities include:

  • Account Coaching - Intense, account specific 1-2 day long account strategy and tactics sessions that result in tailored Origination plans

  • Account Profiling - Systematic account analysis of revenue, expense, analyst reports, and competitive perspectives yielding prioritized account tactics

  • Roundtables by Industry - 1-2 day Industry summits generating strategies and tactics by Industry

  • Industry / Service Line Revenue Plays - Driving Industry/Service Line strategic plays into hand-picked accounts

  • Industry / Service Line Cost Plays - Driving Industry/Service Line strategic plays into hand-picked accounts

  • At least 7 years experience in selling and delivering strategic consulting solutions

  • At least 7 years experience in selling and delivery of complex consulting projects for a Tier 1 consultancy in the Digital , Analytics, or Strategy practices

  • At least 7 years experience in business development with C-suite relationship builder skills

  • At least 7 years experience in negotiating and selling consulting projects

  • At least 7 years experience working within one of the following Industry Sector's: Industrial, Financial Services, Communications, Life Sciences, Consumer Packaged Goods, Travel & Transportation, and/or Retail Industries
