Job Description The Data Warehouse (DW) Architect is responsible for establishing enterprise data warehouse solutions that deliver diverse reporting and analytic capabilities to health and human services customers in the public and private sector. This person will be responsible for designing, developing, continuously refining the data warehouse architecture, data integration methods and end to end data flows for our analytics offerings. This position leads the technical components of enterprise information architecture and implementation. The primary focus will be the development and maintenance of flexible data architectures and Enterprise Data Warehouse solutions. This position will work with Business Analysts, BI Analysts, DBAs, other BI and DW Data Architects, executives and business stakeholders to deploy single source analytics offerings for our international customers. This includes, but is not limited to, building and deploying: ETL processes, data quality methods, data modeling, EDW architectures, data marts, and data tool and system administration. Additionally this person will provide instruction, training and guidance to internal and external team members to ensure effective and efficient use of system resources. This person will be key in the selection, implementation and training of data integration and modeling tools and systems covering the entire data lifecycle. This role requires strong technical ability as well as strong business acumen.
Additional responsibilities include:
Data integration (ETL), data quality, EDW data modeling, EDW data design and architecting, Metadata standards and BI system administration.
Map the current data structure to the future state with a realistic transition plan and road map that integrates with the strategic objectives of the company.
Drive an agile-based approach to implementing data services and solutions to deliver value rapidly and evolve to the future state.
Perform detailed data requirements analyses, design and implementation of complex data models
Design, direct and implement ETL processes, including data capture, data quality, testing and validation methods
Leads architecture governance activities related to BI and Analytics including participation in data governance board (as required) and technology architecture review (as required)
Building innovative data management, real-time, and predictive analytic capabilities
Own and assist in data model documentation, data dictionary, data flow, data mapping and other MDM and Data Governance documentation
Provide analysis, recommendations, and influence to overall strategy and roadmap to build data warehouse environment and supporting toolsets
Required skills and experience
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or engineering or equivalent technology domain experience.
10+ years of experience in designing/leading the conceptual, logical and physical design for distributed databases (OLAP, OLTP).
5+ years of experience in driving the Meta data architecture and master data management (MDM) solutions.
5+ years of experience in performing analysis and high-level design for data management projects.
Experience with SQL DBMSs, Big Data/Hadoop/NoSQL, Visualization and reporting tools, data profiling analysis and transformation,
Strong understanding of activities within primary discipline such as Master Data management (MDM), Metadata Management and Data Governance.
Consistently demonstrate strong experience in Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Database architectures, design patterns, best practices, and programming techniques around relational modeling, dimensional modeling and data integration.
Strong Business and Data Analysis skills
Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrate exemplary teamwork skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills.
Strong leadership and influence skills across Business and Technology organizations
Must be a self-starter and should be able to initiate, prioritize, and complete assignments with little to no supervision.
