Merge Healthcare now and IBM company provides an internationally renowned suite of products for eyecare imaging and informatics, including a digital imaging management system, workstation for the Ophthalmologist, and a web-based viewer. Eyecare is a constantly evolving field with new imaging devices and software algorithms to help doctors diagnose and manage patient care.As Manager you will grow the team and lead developments in advanced early disease detection and progression analysis. The work will be part of a multi-disciplinary team including developers, engineers, researchers and doctors from some of the leading eyecare institutions worldwide.You will guide and work with the development team to deliver excellent products on time and budget withactivities that include:
Plan, track, and lead product development and deliver the expected outcome to agreed-upon objectives in a timely manner;
Work hands-on with the development team where required to develop, debug, and deliver the product;
Provide extensive leadership to employees, work co-operatively and professionally with peers;
Provide help and support to the quality, support, implementation, sales and marketing teams;
Allocate available staff resources to ensure completion within the negotiated timeframe;
Report status on projects under his/her control and inform management immediately of any schedule deviations.
Principal Responsibilities & Duties:
Planning, staffing, estimating, tracking and reporting status on projects under his/her control.

Making delivery commitments in consultation with other functional departments.
Monitoring customer complaints and improving customer satisfaction.
Overseeing the review and approval of project documentation.
Maintaining department expenses to planned levels.
Reports immediately to immediate manager, any variances from the target completion date of the tasks, or that the tasks cannot be completed.
Ensuring Merge methodology, and Quality system compliance in all work products.
Working closely with sales and marketing teams to ensure a high quality product.
Managing external dependencies and 3rd party deliverables.
Effective communication with customers.
Ensuring that the products’ architecture and design is aligned to markets and end users needs and trends.
Determines staff compensation levels within corporate guidelines and sets performance goals
Provide technical leadership and help plan for staff development
Perform performance evaluation periodically
Pursues a program of self-development through the use of selected reading, seminars, and participation in continuing education.
Identifies and communicates possible improvements in the work process for customers and peers.
Performs other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or upper management
5-10 years' experience in software development, with demonstrated progression from developer through team leader to manager
University Degree or College Diploma in Computer Science, Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent level of industry related experience
Strong hands-on experience designing and implementing software systems
Possess knowledge, skills, training, and experience in Microsoft Windows software engineering environments using .NET/C#, C++ or equivalent
Strong knowledge of appropriate software applications and effectively use specialty software, including MS Office, MS Project, Visual Studio
Possess skill and experience with software configuration, build management and issue tracking tools such as Subversion, Jenkins and JIRA
Possess skills and experience with SQL based database systems such MS SQL Server, Oracle and /or DB2
