IBM Application Developer : Maximo in London, United Kingdom

IBM Maximo Asset Management is an enterprise asset management (EAM) software solution product produced by IBM. It is a solution which enterprises use to track the operation, maintenance and disposal of assets. It focuses on the following types of assets:

  • Plant and production (for example oil, gas, chemicals, mining, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, food, electronics and power generation)

  • Infrastructure (including railways, highways, telecommunications, water and wastewater, and electric and gas distribution networks)

  • Transportation (for military, airlines, trucking, shipping, rail and other use)

  • Real estate and facilities (for example, in offices, schools and hospitals)

We are seeking Application Developers to use the package's development tool-set to configure the standard package to meet specific client needs. As an MAXIMO Application Developer you will be expected to

  • Have experience in the full delivery lifecycle including design, build, test, deploy and support

  • Have a familiarity with a range of development approaches including agile

  • Be experienced in the integration of Maximo with other key solutions in the landscape (e.g. ERP, mobile, scheduling)

You will take business-type specifications provided by our Application Consultants and translate those business-focussed, high-level designs into a low-level technical design such that MAXIMO screens, fields, objects, workflows etc are altered to meet specific client needs. You will then develop that design into the package, using MAXIMO's own configuration tools.The primary teams you could expect to work with are a Services implementation team to use MAXIMO's development toolkit to deliver property management solutions. A Support Services Account teams to devise MAXIMO -based solutions responding to proposals, and Support Services Management Teams to develop MAXIMO based offerings to support market facing activities.Candidates interested in this role should be keen to work within a project-related environment, where the projects are to define, sell and deliver IT solutions relating to the management of property and infrastructure assets. An interest in applying connectivity (IoT) and analytics / cognitive technologies to the management of property estates would be of interest.You will welcome working as part of a team in an environment where self-improvement is taken for granted. You will be comfortable working with clients to define and develop detailed technical designs. You will strive to deliver value to clients and be passionate about helping continuously to improve their and IBM's wider ability to deliver value.

  • Demonstrable experience of developing complex business applications using formal development methodologies, including Agile - across at least one full development lifecycle (from requirements gathering, through design, development, test and cut-over to live running).

  • The role is a technical one and thus experience of related technologies (such as Java, Web-Development, Oracle, SQL, SAP) would be beneficial.
